Holiday Card Editions Hold a History

Each holiday season, as a firm, we reflect on the past year and look forward to the new. We consider business wins and challenges, trends, collaborations, our office and work culture, and our personal and professional lives and experiences -- all in the context of our local to international communities. Through conversation, we explore themes and ideas to see what rises to the top in relevance. As we celebrate five years as firm in February 2024, here’s a look back on our holiday card history since the beginning and the backstory to each year’s edition.

Shaping a Bold Vision (1st Edition, 2019)
With zest and ambition we proudly crafted our first holiday card as a firm. We invited our existing clients and collaborators and friends to refer those they knew of who’d be open to seeking a bold architectural vision for a new residential project.

From Our Table to Yours (2nd Edition, 2020)
Nearly two years into our foundation of the firm, we wanted to deeply express our gratitude to partners, clients, family, and friends. Our visual selected centered on the Thanksgiving table – a cornucopia of abundance – reflecting our steady expansion as we established our reputation as a firm.

Wishing You a Resilient Holiday Season (3rd Edition, 2021)
This year, we shifted to selecting quotes that inspired our theme. “A good half of the art of living is resilience,” Alain de Botton. Having preserved through the global pandemic, at the 21-month mark, the theme of a resilient harvest hit home. Our message revolved around learning from the past, growing new things, refining our process, and forging a better path forward.

Striving for Something Worthwhile (4th Edition, 2022)
We kept coming back to the idea of perfectly imperfect in 2022. The quote for the year, “The best moments usually occur if a person’s body or mind is stretched to its limits in voluntary effort to accomplish something difficult and worthwhile,” Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi, inspired us. We wanted to pass that along to encourage others to create their own optimal experience through the journey of striving for excellence.

Presence is a State of Inner Spaciousness (5th Edition, 2023)
The symbolism of a tree with its deep root system and expansive umbrella of branches and leaves, led us in 2023 to quote Eckhart Tolle, “Presence is a state of inner spaciousness.” Tolle talks about making the journey into the Now and leaving the ego behind, and how that allows us to become connected to the indestructible essence of our Being. In reflect on that message, we sent out branches of expansion to our community.
