TUDOR ME BLUE

This young family loves their historic “lakes“ neighborhood nestled on the edge of a vibrant urban center. And they loved their early-century tudor, but it needed to adapt to a more modern lifestyle. They get wistful about the family chef’s commitment to cuisine, about bright colors and about wandering the neighborhood with the dog.
A lot of the initial creative energy came from the family’s focus on gathering for mealtime and the natural patterns that had established themselves: groceries arrived through the mudroom, to the kitchen counter, distributed to cupboards & refrigerator, angled to the stove, etc.
We laid out a “kitchen triangle“ to reinforce their familiar patterns, and more patterns for other areas grew from there.
The consensus is that they got a new house with more room for cooking, growing and exploring, without losing what they loved about their old house.
